Thievery & Apologies

Tell her.

Don't keep it to yourself. 

"She has amazing fashion sense, her hair is lovely, I love her smile, her skin is flawless..."

 Tell her.

"She's so good at that, she has such a lovely home, I love that she bakes for her family."

Tell her.

My tendency is to think those exact same thoughts, but followed up with a, "I wish I was as good at...If my hair looked that good...My baby isn't as fashionable as her baby..."

Immature? Tell me about it! But those really are the thoughts that get in my head.
 

 Why do I constantly bring it back to me instead of celebrating you? It's because I'm about me.  You know what the funniest part about that is?

I would be more content celebrating you than comparing you to me.  It's true!

Because when I choose to celebrate you, I've stopped comparing. I can't do both. One is positive affirmation, the other is negative comparison, and they don't share the same space.

Quick Friday thought for you.

I'd like to bake a cake and top it with all the things I see in you. If you're someone I see, I've thought things about you that were good and lovely but that I haven't said aloud.

I like women because I like beauty, and women are beautiful. But I get afraid that you think like me. . . competitively. I suspect that comparison, the thief of joy, has stolen from more hearts than mine. 

I'm sorry for not TELLING you about the beauty I've seen in you. I want to celebrate you!
